Steve R. Mays, Sr.
– President, Maryland Licensed Tree Expert #271
Steve Mays joined the company when Mays Tree Experts merged with Carroll Tree Service in 1988. With over 35 years of experience in the industry, Steve leads the company in daily operations and manages the set-up of difficult crane removals. His client list includes landscape architects, universities, construction companies, and hundreds of home owners. Steve became the president of Carroll Tree Service in January of 2006. Steve and his wife Margaret have nine children together. Presently, six of the Mays children work at Carroll Tree full-time: Steve Jr, Sam, Luke, Emily, Hank and Gus. Jake, Eli and Leah Mays work at the company part-time.

Robert Nelson Jr. joined Carroll Tree Service in 1972, when he and the original owner, Hank Carroll, became partners. Rob has more than 35 years of experience in the arboriculture field. He manages major financial decisions of the company and oversees the plant health care department. His client list includes golf courses, universities, landscape architects, and some of the oldest family names in the Baltimore area.

Steve Mays, Jr. has been involved with Carroll Tree Service for over 15 years. He started as a young part-time apprentice and years later became a full-time climbing foreman. Today, Steve is a fully qualified arborist and helps with all operations of the company. He provides consultation and assessment services and also oversees tree preservation operations. His client list includes municipalities, development contractors, and residents throughout the Baltimore area.

Steve Sprague has been with Carroll Tree Service for the past seven years. During his time with the company Steve has progressed through the ranks as a climber, foreman, and crane operator. He was instrumental in Carroll Tree's accreditation process with the Tree Care Industry Association in 2009. Today, Steve continues to manage the company's accreditation status, oversees safety and human resources, and acts as Sales Representative to clients throughout the Baltimore area.
